A first: five-time world champion simulator racer competes against professional race-car driver at InterClassics Maastricht

During InterClassics Maastricht, held at MECC Maastricht from 10 through 13 January, visitors will be able to participate in simulation racing at the Monte Carlo track. This is a first in the world of classic-car exhibitions. Two high-quality full motion race simulators from City Sim Racing will be installed, equipped with wide-screen monitors, racing chairs, steering wheels and pedals.

These simulators offer an incomparably realistic sensation that normally only real racers get to experience. On Sunday, 13 January, five-time world champion simulator and Maastricht resident Bono Huis will compete in a sim race with Dutch professional car racer Xavier Maassen and the finalists from the Adrenaline Experience at the 1966 Monte Carlo race track during a live event. The contestants will drive the 1975 McLaren M23 at rFactor 2 during the sim race. The race will be broadcast live online and worldwide, complete with commentary and footage, and may be followed by visitors on site via a large screen. This is a first in the world of classic-car exhibitions.

InterClassics Maastricht will be held from Thursday, 10 through Sunday, 13 January 2019 at MECC Maastricht. The classic car trade exhibition traditionally attracts many buyers and enthusiasts. With 35,000 m2 of exhibition floor space for 300 exhibitors and more than 800 classic cars on display, InterClassics Maastricht is the largest classic-car event in the Benelux.
